Where Do I Start?

Find your starting point.

Most parents arrive at this page in the middle of a hard moment. Pick the path that fits where you are right now.

Step 1

Is your teen struggling?

Recognize the signs of anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral changes, or substance use — and learn what we treat.

Step 2

Not sure what level of care?

We offer four outpatient programs — Partial Care, IOP, Virtual IOP, and Aftercare. Each fits a different stage of recovery.

Step 3

Worried about insurance?

We’re in-network with most major insurance providers. Verify your coverage in under 2 minutes — confidential, no commitment.

What Happens When You Call

Three steps — no pressure, no commitment.

You call us

Speak with an admissions specialist — confidentially, at no cost. We listen first. Tell us what’s going on at your own pace.

2

Free clinical assessment

We schedule a thorough evaluation with one of our licensed clinicians to understand your teen’s needs and recommend the right level of care.

3

Personalized treatment plan

If we’re the right fit, we build a custom plan integrating individual, group, and family therapy — at whatever level of care your teen needs.

Conditions We Treat

Conditions This Therapy Helps With

We treat a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges in adolescents and young adults. Click any condition to learn more about how we approach it.
Specialized Therapies

Therapies chosen for what each teen needs.

We don’t believe one therapy fits every teen. Our clinicians combine cognitive-behavioral approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT), experiential modalities (art therapy, yoga & meditation, music), and integrated supports (family systems, medication management) — coordinated together rather than offered piecemeal.

Why Portum

Why families choose Portum Wellness & Recovery.

From Families We've Served

Real parents. Real outcomes.

If your parent showed you this page...

Here's what we want you to know.

We’re not here to fix you. There’s nothing wrong with you. Whatever you’re dealing with — the anxiety, the sadness, the substances, the not-knowing-why-you-feel-this-way — it’s not a character flaw.

What we do is help you figure out what’s going on, give you actual tools that work, and let you go at your own pace. You don’t have to talk about anything you’re not ready to talk about. You won’t be judged. You can keep going to school. You can still see your friends.

And if you want — you can be the one to call us. We’ll listen.

Parent FAQs

Common questions before you call.

How do I know if my teen needs treatment?

If you've noticed persistent changes — withdrawal from friends or activities, declining grades, mood swings, sleep changes, substance use, or expressions of hopelessness — that have lasted more than a few weeks and are interfering with daily life, a confidential assessment can help. There's no cost to talk with us, and we'll be honest with you about whether treatment is the right fit.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We're in-network with most major insurance providers. The fastest way to know what your plan covers is to verify your benefits with us — takes about 2 minutes, completely confidential, no commitment.

What ages do you treat?

We specialize in adolescents and young adults ages 13–18. Our programs are designed specifically for this developmental stage — not adapted from adult care models.

Will my teen have to stop going to school?

Not necessarily. All of our programs are outpatient, meaning your teen still lives at home. Our Partial Care program is intensive (5 days/week, typically 6 hours/day) and most teens take a planned leave from school during it. Our IOP and Virtual IOP allow your teen to continue attending school. We work with families to coordinate with schools whenever possible.

What if we're not sure what's going on?

That's exactly why we offer a free confidential assessment. You don't need a diagnosis or a clear answer before calling us. Many families call because something feels off — and we help them figure out what's happening and what (if anything) to do about it.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on your teen and their specific needs. Most teens spend 4-8 weeks in our higher levels of care (Partial Care or IOP), then step down to our Aftercare program for ongoing support. There's no rigid timeline — your teen progresses at the pace that's right for them.
